A lucky individual who purchased a Florida Lottery ticket is in for a delightful Valentine's Day surprise. Although the prize of nearly $2 million may not be as substantial as the $36 million jackpot that expired on February 11, it is still a significant sum. The winning Mega Millions ticket was sold at a Publix supermarket, this time in Jacksonville.
If you are fortunate enough to win a prize greater than $1 million, you must claim it at the Florida Lottery headquarters. You have two payment options available to you. The prize must be claimed within 180 days of the draw date, giving you until August 12 to claim the jackpot. After 60 days from the drawing, you can choose the cash option or receive the prize in annual payments.
In addition to the jackpot winner, there were other winners in the Jackpot Triple Play game. Twenty-eight individuals matched five out of the six numbers, earning $424.50 each. 1,308 people matched four numbers, winning $22, while 21,194 individuals matched three numbers, winning $1. One lucky winner hit the Combo 10+ and won $10,000, while seven people won $500 in the Combo 9 category.
Interestingly, the previous Jackpot Triple Play winner also purchased their ticket at a Publix supermarket. The $2 million ticket was sold in Royal Palm Beach on December 29. The winner opted for the cash option and took home $1,271,796.
To play Jackpot Triple Play, you must select six numbers from 1 to 46. Alternatively, you can choose the quick pick option, allowing the terminal to randomly select some or all of your numbers. Each Jackpot Triple Play playslip allows you to manually select one panel while the other two panels are filled out through Quick Pick. For an additional chance to win up to $10,000 by combining number matches from three sets of numbers, you can select the combo box. Playing the combo costs an extra $1.
